Camp Sherman is home to a small but vibrant community with a variety of local resources.
These services are not affilliated with CSCA. They are listed here as a community service.
Black Butte School

Black Butte School is our local K-8 school where the core values are community, curiosity, learning, stewardship and wellness. This is the foundation for educating and empowering their students.
Camp Sherman Post Office

Open Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 12:30pm
The Camp Sherman Post Office serves the area with rural delivery routes, PO boxes, and mailing services. The lobby houses a free book and magazine exchange. It is adjacent to the Camp Sherman Store.
Camp Sherman Store and Deli

The Camp Sherman Store and Deli is open Friday, Saturday & Sunday mid-October through mid-May, and 7 days a week mid- May through mid-October. A full service store with the many items you may have left behind, great sandwiches and drinks, fly shop and ATM. If you can’t find it at the Camp Sherman Store and Deli, you can probably do without it.
Camp Sherman Transfer Site
The local transfer site is located at the “Y” in Camp Sherman and serves as our refuse and recycling service. It is open Sundays 10-2 from November through May, and Sunday and Wednesday 10-2 from June through October. To obtain a permit to use this facility, stop by the shed at the transfer site during open hours for an application and information on rates or contact Lorie Hancock at 541-595-2719.
Chapel in the Pines

Chapel in the Pines is a non-denominational church with 8 different speakers who rotate to lead the service each Sunday. Service is held Sundays at 10am.
Jefferson County Library District

Camp Sherman is in Jefferson County, so residents must apply for an out of district library card at the Sisters Library — which is in Deschutes County. Jefferson, Deschutes, and Crook Counties have a reciprocal agreement that enables their residents to use any branch in the tri-county library system. Sisters Library is the closest branch to Camp Sherman and residents can apply for a library card Tuesday-Saturday.
Sisters–Camp Sherman Fire District
The Camp Sherman fire station was established in 1975 and was responsible for serving over 400 square miles including Suttle Lake, Santiam Pass and the Metolius Basin. Through a mutal aid agreement the fire agencies of Sisters, Black Butte and Camp Sherman teamed up for emergency response. In 1991 the Camp Sherman Fire District and Sisters Fire Department merged into one organization. The Camp Sherman station is staffed by trained volunteers.
